Nuns & Skateboards - Nine Days till Christmas

9 Days till Christmas

Today's quote is by Teresa Zukic. Shortly: Teresa Zukic, born as Dana Zukic in Croatia, is the daughter of an professional football player. Together with her family, who is atheistic, she moved to Germany when she was a child. Till Teresa was 19 years old sports were her life. She was great in athletics and visited a sports school. Her goal in life was to study sports and become a coach. Then, all of a sudden, she became Christ.. A crazy happenstance made her read the "sermon on the mount", which is probably the best known sermon of Jesus in the bible. She became Christian and then a nun. - As her biography isn't very everyday like for a nun her personality isn't either. She love skateboarding, musicals, fish with jam and appear in talkshows or knowledge quizes on the tv! Crazy, huh?! :p

- ..I made a plan, how I could do something special for someone every day of the week..-

Very simple. Try to do something nice for someone the whole week. Pick everyday a different person and spread christmas magic all around! :) And remember Teresa's other thought:

-..Love takes action and isn't afraid..-

Just love everyone. Even the people, who doesn't show you any love. They need it most. And maybe the person you will try to do something special for will be someone you don't even like so much or someone who isn't always grateful and caring?!

Only For Today - Ten Days till Christmas

10 Days till Christmas

So there are only 10 Days left till Christmas! I want to make this an occassion to share some interestings thoughts by interesting people with you. Happy advent folks xoxo  And here it goes:

Sometimes you can get really tired by all the stuff surrounding you and all the expectations you have of yourself...The following  kind of meditational text, written by Pope John the 23rd is called 'Only for Today' - Pope John asks his readers to stop thinking about yesterday or tommorow and concentrate on the moment. Doing this he gives advices how to act. I would love to share this wonderful words with you:

- Only for today, I will seek to live the livelong day positively without wishing to solve the problems of my life all at once.

Only for today, I will take the greatest care of my appearance: I will dress modestly; I will not raise my voice; I will be courteous in my behaviour; I will not criticize anyone; I will not claim to improve or to discipline anyone - except myself.

Only for today, I will be happy in the certainty that I was created to be happy, not only in the other world but also in this one.

Only for today, I will adapt to circumstances, without requiring all circumstances to be adapted to my own wishes.

Only for today, I will devote 10 minutes of my time to some good reading, remembering that just as food is necessary to the life of the body, so good reading is necessary to the life of the soul.

Only for today, I will do one good deed and not tell anyone about it.

Only for today, I will do at least one thing I do not like doing; and if my feelings are hurt, I will make sure that no one notices.

Only for today, I will make a plan for myself: I may not follow it to the letter, but I will make it. And I will be on guard against two evils: hastiness and indecision.

Only for today, I will firmly believe, despite appearances, that the good Providence of God cares for me as no one else who exists in this world.

Only for today, I will have no fears. In particular, I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful and to believe in goodness. Indeed, for 12 hours I can certainly do what might cause me consternation were I to believe I had to do it all my life. -
